01//The Goal

You manage a supply chain network under disruption. Each scenario starts with a shock — a failing supplier, a geopolitical event, a capacity crunch — and your job is to keep the network alive long enough to win.

Every scenario has one or more hub nodes (white border). Win by keeping every hub above its health threshold for the required number of ticks. Lose when any hub hits zero, or when five non-hub nodes collapse (fragmentation).

The clock runs automatically — every tick, pressure propagates through the network. You intervene with a limited action budget. Spend it wisely.

02//Pressure & Health

Health Bar
60–100% — Stable
30–60% — Stressed — act soon
0–30% — Critical — pulsing ring warns you
Pressure Propagation

Each tick, a node's pressure score decays its health and transmits a fraction of that pressure downstream along edges.

Edge weight determines how much pressure transfers. Heavy edges (thicker lines) carry more.

A damage ripple ring shows when a node just took a hit — if ripples are rapid, it's compounding fast.

03//Node Archetypes

Each node has a behavioral type that determines how it handles pressure. Read the archetype — not just the health bar.

📦
Fragile
Degrades rapidly under any pressure. Always your first priority. Don't wait — it will collapse before you expect it.
⚙️
Oscillatory
Pressure spikes unpredictably. Watch the trend, not the current reading. Buffer before the next spike, not after.
🏗️
Constrained
Bottleneck — it passes pressure straight through. Fixing the constrained node itself does little. Fix what feeds it.
🏪
Resilient
Self-recovers. Absorbs pressure slowly. Don't waste actions here — it will handle itself most of the time.
📊
Saturated
At capacity. Emits burst pressure downstream when it maxes out. Decouple it from critical paths before it blows.
🔌
Multiplier
Amplifies pressure ×1.8 before passing it on. Stop the input reaching this node — buffering it alone won't help.
🛡️
Dampener
Natural valve — transmits only 35% downstream. Keep it alive. A dead dampener is a full-pressure pipe.
Latent
Hidden fault. Looks inactive until sustained pressure activates it. Use Investigate early to reveal it.

04//Your Actions

Select an action from the toolbar, then click a node (or edge, for Decouple) to apply it. Actions are consumed on use — they don't recharge.

🔧
Reinforce1 use
+20 HP, 20 ticks of damage protection, +8 relationship score
Buys time — not a cure. Use on hubs when health drops below 40. Overusing it on symptoms lets the root cause compound.
🛡
Buffer1 use
Cuts pressure transmission by 65% for one tick
Emergency brake on a cascading edge. Fast effect, but emergency purchasing terms strain supplier relationships (−5 score).
Refused if relationship score < 20. Reinforce first to restore trust.
✂️
Decouple1 use
Severs an edge — permanently removes that connection
Use on edges feeding a failing node that can't be saved. Stops the cascade at the cost of losing that supply path entirely.
🔍
Investigate1 use
Reveals a fog-of-war (hidden) node
Some scenarios hide nodes behind '?'. You can't target hidden nodes — Investigate them first to see their archetype and health.
🚛
Nearshore1 use
Migrates a non-hub supplier to Mexico (low-friction jurisdiction)
Reduces long-term geopolitical friction risk. Warning: causes 20 ticks of 2× decay during transition. Use only when stable.
Cannot target hubs, or nodes already in US/Mexico.

05//Supplier Relationships

Every non-hub node has a relationship score (0–100). It tracks how your supplier feels about you.

  • 🔧 Reinforce — adds +8 relationship score. Builds trust over time.
  • 🛡 Buffer — subtracts −5 relationship score. Emergency terms strain the relationship.
  • ⚠️ Below 40 — relationship is at risk. Warning appears in the log.
  • 🔴 Below 20 — supplier refuses Buffer. Must Reinforce first to restore cooperation.

Hover any node during gameplay to see its relationship score and supplier personality trait.

06//Fog of War

Some scenarios hide nodes behind a ? marker with a dashed border. These are nodes you know exist but haven't assessed yet.

Hidden nodes still receive and transmit pressure — they're just opaque to you. You can't Reinforce or Buffer them until revealed.

Use Investigate to reveal a hidden node. When revealed, the log shows its archetype and behavior. In Latent-heavy scenarios, investigate early — a Latent node activating mid-game with no actions left is usually a loss.

07//Run Modifiers

Each run rolls random modifiers — conditions that change the rules for that game. They appear at the scenario start screen.

Negative (harder)
  • 🚢 Port Congestion — constrained nodes start stressed
  • ⚖ Trade Dispute — Reinforce costs 2 uses
  • 📈 Demand Surge — need extra survival ticks to win
  • 🔗 Fragile Network — fragile nodes start at 70% HP
  • 💸 Reduced Budget — 1 fewer of every action type
  • 📊 Market Volatility — all decay rates +20%
Positive (easier)
  • 🌤 Favorable Conditions — resilient nodes recover 2×
  • 🍀 Lucky Break — one action type gets +1 use
  • 🚛 Smooth Logistics — Buffer cuts 75% instead of 65%
  • 🏦 Strategic Reserve — +1 Reinforce, +1 Buffer
  • 💚 High Trust Network — suppliers start trust +20
  • ⚡ Surge Capacity — hub starts +15 HP, decays slower

08//Winning & Losing

✓ Win Conditions

Keep all hub nodes above the scenario health threshold for the required number of ticks. The win condition is shown at the top of each scenario card.

✗ Loss Conditions
  • Any hub node drops to 0% health
  • 5 non-hub node collapses (fragmentation)

09//Strategy Tips

🎯Read the archetype, not just the health bar. A resilient node at 40% is less urgent than a fragile node at 70%.
🔗Trace pressure to its source. Buffering a downstream node while a multiplier upstream keeps feeding it is wasted.
💸Actions are scarce. Spending them on symptoms means you'll run out before the root cause kills you.
🛡️Dampeners are your silent allies. Protect them the same way you protect hubs — they carry the load so hubs don't have to.
In fog-of-war scenarios, Investigate early. A latent node activating mid-game is usually game over.
🤝Relationship scores matter. Buffer too aggressively and suppliers will refuse cooperation. Reinforce to rebuild trust.
🌊Five non-hub collapses = fragmentation loss, even if your hub is fine. Don't write off peripheral nodes.
🚛Nearshore is a long game move. The 20-tick decay window it creates can kill you if you're already under pressure.
